Nintendo’s 3DS Finally Has A Date

nintendo 3ds 300x210 Nintendos 3DS Finally Has A Date

After ages and ages and what has seemed AGES AND AGES, we finally have a release date and pricing (kind of) for the Nintendo 3DS.

We had stated in a previous post (though unofficially) that we got a launch date of November in Japan and next Spring for everywhere else... Well we couldn't have been more wrong but to be honest we don't mind, seeing as how great the 3DS is supposed to be, especially with the line up of launch titles that will also be on offer (which we've included some of here).

As officially announced at the Tokyo press event, the 3DS will be arriving (in Japan) February 26th, 2011at around USD$300. In case you were wondering, the new handheld will be reaching European and North American shores sometime thereafter but unf0rtunately nothing concrete as of yet, only around March 2011.

What do know for certain also, is that the Nintendo 3DS will be coming in "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmo Black".

For obvious reasons, the fact that this handheld will bring gaming to 3D is a major selling point. But the reign of brand-spanking new hardware either rises or falls depending on the software available. Thankfully though, with the a huge number of fantastic looking launch titles on offer as well, this shouldn't really pose too much of a threat.

For starters we have the games from Nintendo themselves (Lists via theredshell.com):

  • Kid Icarus: Uprising, the long-awaited franchise follow-up to the NES classic
  • Mario Kart, which shows off the potential of driving and tossing bananas in 3D
  • Nintendogs + cats, a new version of the best-selling nintendogs franchise that lets players interact even more with their virtual puppies - and kittens
  • PilotWings Resort, a flying simulation that lets players soar above Wuhu Island
  • Animal Crossing, a new installment of the charming community-building franchise
  • StarFox 64 3D, a game that demonstrates the true distance and depth of outer space using Nintendo's well-known franchise
  • Steel Diver, a new submarine-navigation game from Nintendo
  • Paper Mario, which brings paper-based 2D environments to life

Nintendo 3DS also comes to market with the strongest third-party support of any video game system in Nintendo history. Third-party games on display at the Nintendo booth at the E3 Expo include:

  • DJ Hero 3D from Activision
  • Resident Evil Revelations from Capcom
  • The Sims 3 from Electronic Arts
  • Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D "The Naked Sample" from Konami
  • Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracles (name not final) from LEVEL-5
  • Ridge Racer (name not final) from Namco Bandai Games
  • Kingdom Hearts franchise game from Square Enix
  • Dead or Alive 3D (name not final) from Tecmo Koei Games
  • Samurai Warriors 3D from Tecmo Koei Games
  • Battle of Giants: Dinosaur Strike from Ubisoft
  • Hollywood 61 (name not final) from Ubisoft

Other planned 3ds game titles:

  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (name not final) from Capcom
  • Madden NFL and FIFA Soccer games from Electronic Arts
  • CODENAME: Chocobo Racing 3D
  • Final Fantasy franchise game and from Square Enix
  • Ninja Gaiden (name not final) game from Tecmo Koei Games
  • Saint's Row: Drive By from THQ
  • Assassin's Creed Lost Legacy
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory from Ubisoft
  • Batman game from Warner Bros

Apple MacBook Leaked – New Model Could Arrive this Week

new apple macbook 1 300x200 Apple MacBook Leaked New Model Could Arrive this WeekThe Vietnamese website Tinhte seems to be the source of Apple [AAPL] leaks this past week. Just last week they managed to get hold of an Apple iPhone 4G and now this week, they seem to have their hands on a new Apple MacBook.

The new Apple MacBook will more than likely have a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, run an NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card that has 256MB RAM and be more in line with the MacBook Pro (13.3 inch model).

Some rumours around the internet indicate that the next gen Apple MacBook could go on sale as early as tomorrow, or perhaps sometime this week.

Right now the pricing for the MacBook is $999. We do not know if this price will stay the same or perhaps change for the better side (ie, cheaper). Previous updates to the MacBook did bring a slight increase to the cost of it. We'll find out more than likely in the next few days.

The video below shows the Apple MacBook being unboxed. Unfortunately it isn't in English although you do get to see what's in the box and how it all looks.

Samsung SGH i400

gadget Today | Samsung released this little beauty, the SGH i400 smartphone. Although we already got used to Samsungs S60 Sliders, this one has the Symbian OS trademark in the upper-left corner. It is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera to make sure you don’t miss out on taking really cool photos even if you don’t own a genuine digital camera. And didn’t you got bored of navigating through your whole menu just to try and find an MP3. Well, they have solved your problem by adding up a special MP3 button. It is also equipped with A2DP, Bluetooth and MicroSD expansion for your pleasure and comfort. You also have full support for Internet Browsing (it would have been weird if you didn’t) and you are provided with a 2.3 inch display, so you won’t have to wear your glasses just to make a simple phone-call.
