UK Nexus S release delayed: Bumped until Dec 22nd

If you’re an Android fan hoping to cash in on the new Google Nexus S in time for this Christmas, this is what you’ve been dreading to hear. While the latest news may not have a massive impact as the delay will still mean the new Google Android flagship will arrive by the holidays, this does mean fans will need to wait abit longer to get their hands on the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread device.

The new Samsung phone which will now be officially releasing here in the UK on the 22nd via the Carphone Warehouse (from free with a £30/month contract), will also be available in only limited quantities at key stores. This most likely points to stores in London. If you’re hoping to get hold of one before the holidays, online purchasing with the option of collection at your nearest Carphone Warehouse shop would be your safest and most likely successful bet. Pre-orderers should presumably be getting their handsets on Wednesday too, while the very reasonable £430 unlocked handset price has also been confirmed.
