Motorola Droid Pro

I’m holding a Droid Pro in my hot little hands for the official TFTS review of the device that should be up tomorrow sometime. Don’t feel like waiting for the review? Best Buy is now offering a heavily discounted price on the Droid Pro, with a two-year contract, of course.

Motorola Droid Pro 2

The Droid Pro launched on Verizon at $179.99 on a two-year deal, and that price still stands on their website. But, Best Buy is now offering the phone for just $49.99 on the same 24-month term. Everybody is now speculating that the business-minded Droid is selling poorly – but there are a number of reasons as to why the phone could be discounted this heavily so soon after launch. (I’m a consummate professional – you won’t hear what I think about the device until the review tomorrow).

The $49.99 deal from Best Buy is good both at retail locations and at the Best Buy website. Here’s a recap of the specs of the Motorola Droid Pro:

  • Android 2.2
  • 3.1-inch screen
  • 1GHz Processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 2GB Flash
  • “BlackBerry-style” business keyboard

I’m sure Motorola doesn’t like us calling the keyboard “BlackBerry-style” (or maybe they do), but it’s clearly a keyboard from that BlackBerry/early Palm style of business-orientated phones. Along with Exchange support, encryption stuff and other features, this really is the most business-minded Droid yet. Want to know more, keep us in your RSS reader for the full Droid Pro review tomorrow.
