gadget maniak | Canon offers locking mode dial for $100

Set aside the Pentax fans or Nikon lovers, Canon users will remain Canon users – super loyal to their fav camera making company. Photography is a passionate hobby for me and I tend to use every mode of my camera pretty seriously to come up with amazing photographs. Things become irritating when the mode dial in my Canon camera moves to some other option without my knowledge thus disrupting the settings and killing precious time.

To fight with such issues Canon has announced that they will be installing a locking system to your cameras for an extra $100 and initially this service will be available only for EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D. As of now people can either question Canon for not including this feature from the initial phase itself or otherwise go ahead and spend the extra 100 bucks to save those few minutes of frustration that creeps in when the mode dial changes without their knowledge.

We are not sure when will Canon launch the same service for other DSLR models and if they are planning to include the feature in their upcoming models but we are sure that $100 can sound a bit too much for something that Canon missed out initially.
