gadget maniac | BestBuy.co.uk Opens Its Online UK Store – Will We Get Cheap Bargain Technology Prices?

best buy logo BestBuy.co.uk Opens Its Online UK Store Will We Get Cheap Bargain Technology Prices? It has been quite a while since we brought you news that BestBuy was launching a chain of stores here in the UK, and just because we still haven’t seen them spring up in every city on this little island of ours, don’t believe for a second that the migration from the States has been halted.

In fact, BestBuy is now launching it’s UK-based online store, BestBuy.co.uk, and it will feature all of the products you can find in the physical UK stores that are already here and those that will hopefully be arriving shortly, and the competitive pricing of said products will remain the same. Plus, BestBuy claims to be packing even more products than that into its online store across the categories available. Well, that can’t be bad, can it?

Of course, cheap online shopping is hardly a new, innovative idea, far from it, but when a chain that has been as successful in the US as BestBuy hits our shores and our web, it’s probably more than newsworthy.

Also if you are one of the remaining few who remain sceptical of online shopping, BestBuy promise to offer all of the expertise and advice provided by their in-store team, the Blueshirts, on the new website as well as provide ample space for user comments, reviews of products and the site and allow for user recommendations too, through forums and blogs.

Interestingly, customers can also post their own video reviews to the site through the TechXpert platform, and you as a consumer may be offered the chance to be a BestBuy product tester.

deVere Forster, Managing Director for Online at Best Buy UK said: “The launch of our e-commerce store on BestBuy.co.uk marks a key milestone for the business and helps to make buying technology simple, inspiring and tailored to each of our customers. We are very excited that customers from across the UK will now be able to experience the Best Buy brand for the first time.”

Unfortunately due to the location of the current stores I haven’t been able to check out BestBuy UK for myself (how about opening one in the North of England, perhaps the Manchester area?), but with the addition of the online store it sure will be somewhere worth considering in the future. I tend to do a lot of online shopping for bargains, particularly for tech anyway, so don’t let it be said that choice is a bad thing.

One notable product that they’ve got competitively priced is the Samsung Galaxy Tab (sim-free) which was only released this week – hopefully this is a sign of the cheap technology bargains to come!

If you have had the chance to take a look around the new BestBuy stores here in the UK, then feel free to let us know of your experiences in the comments section below.
